Obligation to create a Garden of Remembrance

In accordance with the law of December 19, 2008, municipalities with more than 2,000 inhabitants are required to set up a Garden of Remembrance in their cemeteries. The purpose of this space is to provide a suitable and dignified place for the scattering of the ashes of the deceased.

Structured, regulated development

A Garden of Remembrance must include :

  • A space for scattering ashes, designed to meet regulatory requirements and offer a serene setting.
  • An identification device, such as a column or a book of remembrance, to honor the memory of the deceased in a lasting way.
